Family Assistance Update

Bobbie Lott:(9-23-17 nf) Bobbie fell some 3 months ago and broke his hip, he was hospitalized and was in a rehab center since that time until he was released earlier this week and is now at home being cared for by wife, Carmen and family. We delivered and set up a hospital bed at his home Friday for his comfort and convenience for caretakers. Bobbie still has a ways to go and needs our prayers for recovery.

:(9-23-17 nf) Doug was recently diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disorder that is characterized by the fluctuating weakness of the voluntary muscle groups such as facial & neck muscles. Doug will begin a series of IV treatments Monday through Friday next week, each treatment will take 4-7 hours to complete. [More]

PENSION BOARD ELECTION

In the near future two of the trustees positions on the HPOPS Board of Directors will be up for election. During our HPROA board meeting today, two of the trustees, currently serving on the HPOPS board, came to our meeting to ask our help in being reelected to their board positions. Terry Bratton is running for reelection to his retired officer position and Dwayne Ready is running for reelection to his active officer position. They both feel that our pension struggles are not over and the continuity of this group of board members is important. [More]
 

Restoration of Outdoor Range Qualification Hours

The Outdoor Range will begin normal hours of operation beginning Sunday, September 10th, 2017, at 2200 hours. 

Normal qualification lines will begin Monday morning, September 11th, 2017, at 0000 hours. Weapons Qualifications will be done on an  “off-duty” basis per the Meet and Confer Agreement. August and September birth month officers are encouraged to complete annual TCOLE weapons qualification as soon as possible. Retiree Qualifications will begin Monday, September 11th, 2017, at 0630 hours.

 


Outdoor Range Qualification times:

Days:               0630, 0800, 1000 Monday - Friday

Evenings:        1600, 1800, 2000 Monday - Friday

Nights:            0000, 0200, 0400 Sunday - Thursday


911 Heroes Run
 The 911 Heroes Run being rescheduled . It will be on Saturday Nov. 11, 2017 (Veterans Day) with opening ceremony starting at 8:30am. The actual race will start at City Hall, go west on Allen Parkway then back east on Allen Parkway and end at City Hall.

As a result, some of our members have reached out and want to help out in any way possible.  Sometimes just a caring phone call is all that is needed, other times, a few hours or days of labor, or simply borrowing a trailer or truck to haul off damaged goods is a lifeline. [More]
