Joe Allen Scott, 77, A member of the HPROA passed away Monday, November 16, 2015. He was born July 16, 1938 in Houston, TX to parents, Bertha & Joseph Scott.Joe served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He joined the Houston Police Academy #23 in April, 1960 and retired as Sergeant in the Emergency Communications Division of the Houston Police Department on October 30, 1984 (24 years, 11 months of service). Joe then joined the Harris County Constable’s Office - Precinct One on November 1, 1984, working his way up to the rank of Assistant Chief over the Patrol and Mental Health Division, retiring from Precinct One on December 31, 2000 (16 years, 2 months of service) for a total of 41 years, 1 month in law enforcement. He is survived by his wife, Eva Scott; daughters, Karen Scott-Fore (Paul Fore), and Diana Scott-Priest (Greg Priest); grandchildren, Sheldyn Butler, Kristen Beddingfield (Brady), Brandon Province, and Sloan Priest; step-grandchildren, Cari Hughes (Jason), and Katelyn Mickle (Josh); great-grandchildren, Reagan Beddingfield, and Michael Hughes.
A Memorial Service celebrating Joe’s life will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 1 PM in the chapel at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd.
