Tommie L. Hastings A member of the HPROA passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bessie Marie Hastings. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He joined the Houston Police Department on September 8, 1958, Academy Class #19. During his career with the Houston Police Department, Sergeant Hastings was assigned to the Patrol Division, Vice Division, Burglary and Theft Division, and the Robbery Division, retiring on August 4, 1984.
