David Newton White, an HPROA member, Retired Sergeant, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019, at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife, Jessie L. White, who retired on March 11, 1982, out of the Auto Theft Division. Sergeant White joined the Houston Police Department on December 29, 1958, Academy Class #20. During his career in the department, he was assigned to the Patrol Bureau, Juvenile Division, and the Police Garage Division, retiring on June 29, 1979.
