Recently, the Houston Chronicle published a story detailing that Cigna may terminate its relationship with Houston Based Memorial Hermann Hospital on April 30th.  Some City of Houston insurance providers (not Kelsey), use Memorial Hermann for some of its active and pre-Medicare insurance plans. Further details can be found in the attached link.

It s important to note that this does not apply to Cigna’s City of Houston Medicare Advantage plans.

The HPROA has been communicating with City H.R. management over this issue.  There is only limited information that the City will share since everything is still in negotiation.  The City advised us that there will be no further information.unless the parties come to an agreement.

The City did specifically note that at this time Cigna is still within the Memorial Hermann network.  There are no changes to the Cigna coverage at this time.  They will know more on April 30, about what it means moving forward.

“Memorial Hermann Hospital has offered more information on this link:”

We completely understand the stress that our members could be experiencing who have this CIGNA coverage.  Be assured that the HPROA will keep our members informed by blasting out specifics whenever further information is released.
