Business Meeting Cancelled

The HPROA Business Meeting scheduled for August 13th has been canceled due to the continuing Coronavirus threat and observing the CDC recommendation that all meetings with over 10 attendees be cancelled.  The HPROA Board Meeting will be held, details of which are pending.

FAMILY ASSISTANCE MONTHLY REPORT
July 2020
Jake Goodrum: (7-19-20 blc) On Wednesday, July 15th, Henry Chavez, along with Mike Gee and Tim Dillon, took a hospital bed to Jake. He had fallen recently and broke some ribs and is having difficulty getting out of bed. I called him today and spoke with his youngest sister, Shirley.  She said they were very appreciative of the guys bringing out the bed.  She told me that Jake has been having some problems recently and falls. FREE SURGICAL MASKS TO MEMBERS

Charles Crum:  (8-4-20 blc) After seeing on Facebook that Charles has been ill, I called him and found that since November, 2019, he has been sick 3 times with body aches, headache, sinus, etc. After it recurred last Sunday he had an E Visit with his doctor since he had a fever this time. [More]

New Information     HPOPS Rumor Mill

Apparently, there is a post on social media that the HPOPS investment rate of return for the year ended June 30, 2020 is a negative 11%. This is untrue! If you happen to see this post or hear the rumor please disregard it.

Our preliminary rate of return has already been posted to the Investments section, the News section and the Announcements section of the HPOPS website. Please look to the HPOPS website for reliable information (www.hpops.org).

HPD Pistol Range Reopened For Retiree Qualifications

Retirees MUST have a reservation in order to qualify.
  
NO WALK-INS ALLOWED.

Reservations will be scheduled by the Retiree Certification Unit (RCU), only.
 
The RCU will be contacting those who have submitted their paperwork to the RCU to schedule reservations.
 
Retirees will check in at the RCU, wearing their masks, at approximately 10:30 am to complete any remaining paperwork before qualifying at the indoor range. The qualification line time is approximately 11:00 am, at the Indoor Pistol Range
 
Retirees must have their weapons clear and unloaded prior to entering any facility at the Academy.  Retiree Weapons will be inspected at the indoor range after check-in at the RCU. [More]
 
IMPORTANT NOTICE Regarding the HPROA Website

The board has been informed that the servers belonging to the vendor who handles our website have been compromised.  It is our understanding that this was not a lone attack on the HPROA, but multiple law enforcement sites were also impacted. Based on this, we have to assume that our Member Directory information may also been been compromised. [More]
