George L. Machac HPROA Member passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016, at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marian B. Machac. He is the father of Senior Police Officer Tommy L. Machac, assigned to the North Division, and Police Officer Michael W. Machac, assigned to the Northeast Division. He is also the father-in-law of Tommy’s wife, Sergeant Mary R. Machac, assigned to the Northwest Division. Lieutenant Machac joined the Houston Police Department on December 29, 1958, Academy Class #20. He retired on February 4, 1994 while assigned to the Air Support Division.
The body is entrusted with Callaway-Allee Funeral Home, 700 East Houston Avenue, Crockett, Texas 75835, (936) 544-2244. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Francis of the Tejas Catholic Church, 609 North Fourth Street, Crockett, Texas 75835, (936) 544-5338, on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 starting at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas 75851.
