Phillip Camus A member of the HPROA, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Margaret “Peggy” Sheely. Sergeant Phillip Camus joined the Houston Police Department on March 4, 1957, Academy Class #16. During his career with the department, he was assigned to the Northeast Division, Training Division, Jail Division, Southeast Division and the Special Operations Division until his retirement on February 23, 1985. Phil Camus was appointed Constable Pct. 5 in 2007 and served two consecutive terms before his retirement in 2016. He served 59 years in law enforcement with the Houston Police Dept. and Harris County Constable Pct. 5.
