Retired Lieutenant Russel J Pete passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the age of 79. He was not a member of the HPROA. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He started his law enforcement career with the City of Houston Airport Police Department on March 24, 1980. He joined the ranks of the Houston Police Department on November 20, 1992 during the merge of both departments. Lieutenant Pete was assigned to the Airport Hobby Division and retired on October 12, 2004.

A visitation will be held before the funeral service at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4600 Reed Road, Houston, Texas 77051 (713) 738-2311 on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 8:45 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 9:15 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Boulevard, Pearland, Texas 77581 (281) 485-2221.
