Retired Senior Police Officer Robert G Alaniz passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020, at the age of 66. He is survived by his wife, Irma M. Alaniz. He began his law enforcement career on June 21, 1976 where he was assigned to the City of Houston Marshal’s Division and the City of Houston Park Police until the merger with the Houston Police Department on September 1, 1985. During his career with the Houston Police Department, Officer Alaniz was assigned to the Special Operations Division and the Downtown Division until his retirement on July 15, 2017.
The body is entrusted with Funeraria del Angel, 5100 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77022 (713) 695-6881. A visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
An additional visitation will be held before the funeral service at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran Street, Houston, Texas 77009 (713) 695-0631 on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Historic Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 North Main Street, Houston, Texas 77009 (713) 227-5109.
