Retired Senior Police Officer John H Smith passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gaylyn J. Smith. Officer Smith joined the Houston Police Department on October 3, 1983, Academy Class #116. During his career with the department, he was assigned to the Northwest Division, Records Division, Emergency Communications Division, Westside Division and the Midwest Division until his retirement on December 8, 2012.
