Retired Sergeant James A Pierce passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020, at the age of 90. His wife, Mrs. Susan Schinke, survives him. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He joined the Houston Police Department on May 21, 1956, Academy Class #14. During his tenure with the department, he was assigned to the Central and Homicide Divisions. Sergeant Pierce retired on March 1, 1991.

A visitation will be held before the Funeral Service at Gipson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 7, 2020, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will start at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 5202 South 1st Street, Lufkin, Texas 75901 (936) 634-4411.
