Sergeant Sean S Rios, assigned to the Airport Hobby Division, tragically died in the Line of Duty on Monday, November 9, 2020, at the age of 47. He is a Veteran of the United States Marines Corps. He is the cousin of Sergeant Richard Nieto, assigned to the Airport IAH Division, Police Officer Jonathan M. Villarreal, and Police Officer Francisco J. Haselberger, both assigned to the Narcotics Division. He joined the Houston Police Department on August 28, 1995, Academy Class #165. During his tenure with the department, he was assigned to the Southwest, Central, Eastside, and Southeast Divisions.

A public viewing will be held at Sagemont Church, 11300 South Sam Houston Parkway East, Houston, Texas 77089 (281) 481-8770, on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Grace Church Houston, 14505 Gulf Freeway, Houston, Texas 77034 (713) 363-2500 on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, starting at 11:00 a.m. COVID-19 social distancing protocol will be followed.

A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
