•The Houston Police Burial Fund is 100 years old this month.  The annual meeting and election of trustees will immediately follow this meeting.
•Board is working on wording for a HPROA Mission Statement.
•HPOU will have a live taping of the popular podcast “Security Matters with Paul Viollis” on January 15th.  Paul Viollis, CBS News’ Law Enforcement and Security Analyst, along with Houston Police, City of Houston and Houston FOP will feature an in-depth interview about one of Houston’s most famous Cold Case.  The case labeled “Lovers Lane” was the brutal double murder of a young couple in 1991. Family Assistance Update

Betty Pierpont Mason: (1-7-20 rh) M.D. Beall advised that Betty (HPROA member), widow of Deceased member L.R.P. Pierpont, has been fighting liver cancer for a while now.  He just received an update from her.  She’s had the first part of the Y-90 procedure yesterday.  She didn’t have to stay in the hospital but they mapped the route to her liver tumor.  It grew 3cm since September.  She will have part 2 after the artery heals which takes about 4 weeks. Nelson Foehner:(12-2-19) Foehner reports that a recent PET scan revealed that except for an area of the upper right arm and shoulder, all other earlier areas of involved and affected tissue have substantially or totally been resolved by chemo therapy. We will continue with three more treatments after which another PET scan will be scheduled. He invites all Prayer Warriors to remain steadfast in prayers for him and others fighting this dreaded disease.

Joe Scerbo: (12-8-19 rh) We were notified today by Wayne Black that his friend and HPROA member Joe Scerbo is extremely ill.  We contacted Joe's wife Mary and she stated he has been suffering with COPD  for a number of years, but it has now become severe. [More]
