Milton E. "Mel" Gideon

Milton E. "Mel" Gideon:  (8-1-11)   HPROA Member Milton E. Gideon who retired from the Department on January 3, 1989, after serving over twenty-two- (22) years, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011.  At the time of his retirement, he was assigned to the East Service Center Storefront.  During his tenure, Sergeant Gideon was assigned to the Central, Special Operations, Vice, Northeast, and Crime Analysis Command Center Divisions.  He also served in the Chief's Administration and Management Service Administration Commands.  He joined the Department on November 8, 1965, entering Police Academy Class No. 32.   He is survived by his wife, Birgit Gideon of Fredericksburg, Texas, and four sons:  Henry Gideon, Raimund Gideon, Jeffrey Gideon and Matt Gideon. 

 The body is entrusted with Schaetter's Funeral Home, 301 East San Antonio Street, Fredericksburg, Texas, telephone number 800-880-2152.  Visitation for family and friends will be held at Schaetter's Funeral Home Chapel beginning on Friday, August 5, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
