Sheryl L. Wright, HPROA member, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at the age of 63. She joined the Houston Police Department as a Fingerprint Classification One Officer on November 14, 1977. She was classified as a Police Officer on January 5, 1985. During her career with the Houston Police Department, Senior Police Officer Wright was assigned to the Identification Division, Westside Division, Emergency Communications Division, Juvenile Division, and Robbery Division. She retired on January 29, 2005. She returned to work for the Houston Police Department on January 25, 2010, as an Administrative Coordinator at the Employee Services Division, until June 9, 2011.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Magnolia Funeral Home, 811 South Magnolia Boulevard, Magnolia, Texas 77355 (281) 356-3363, on Saturday, September 24, 2016, starting at 3:00 p.m.
