James L. Summers, Jr. a member of the HPROA, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife, Tina E. Summers. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He joined the Houston Police Department on June 22, 1970, Academy Class #45. During his career with the department, he was assign to the Emergency Communications, Northeast, and the Burglary and Theft Divisions. Sergeant Summers retired on February 2, 2002.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Austin’s Steak House in Kosse, Texas.
