Retired Police Officer and HPROA member Gene A Smith passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Linda N. Smith. Officer Smith was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and joined the Houston Police Department on September 8, 1958, Academy Class #19. During his career with the department, Officer Smith was assigned to the Central Division and the Northeast Division until his retirement on March 29, 1991.

Graveside services will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598 (281) 332-3111 on Thursday, November 12, 2020 beginning at 3:00 p.m.
