Retired Senior Police Officer Mark Leija passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at the age of 58. He is survived by his wife Christine Alcaraz Leija. He joined the Houston Police Department on March 13, 1986, Academy Class #134. During his tenure with the department he was assigned to the Southeast, Jail, Westside, and Central Divisions. Senior Police Officer Leija retired on February 11, 2017.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 6646 Addicks Satsuma Road, Houston, Texas 77084 (281) 463-7878, on Monday, December 21, 2020, starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079 (281) 497-2210.
