The HPROA Board of Directors confidently endorses and recommends Terry Bratton and Dwayne Ready in the upcoming HPOPS Trustee election.
As an incumbent, Terry has first-hand experience in the operation of HPOPS, and currently serves as its respected Chairman of the Board. His documented record of leadership is well known and on the table.
Also an incumbent, Dwayne is prepared to meet the challenges of the pandemic, market volatility, and economic downturn head-on. He has the experience, knowledge, and resolve to manage these challenges in collaboration with the other trustees.
The Texas 87th Legislative Session begins on January 12, 2021, and the HPROA Board believes that with Terry’s and Dwayne’s many years of experience they can hit the ground running with what will be in the best interests of our members. Noteworthy is that Terry and Dwayne have both stepped up to review options for enhancements to the current plans where needed, have had open discussion with the Mayor to that end, and as the plan continues to grow, its funding ratio has increased (up to 82.4% this year!).
All HPROA members are reminded that your vote counts. It was just a short while ago that a HPOU board position was determined by a two-vote margin. Everyone is encouraged to vote, and the process has been improved. HPOPS members can vote either by mail or vote on-line, but of course, by only one of these means! Here is the timeline:
- The ballots will be mailed AND emailed on Thursday, November 5.
- Ballots will be accepted until 5pm Monday, November 23.
- The election results will be announced on Wednesday, November 25.
Terry Bratton‘s and Dwayne Ready’s record and experience as HPOPS Trustees gives them the wisdom and insight to make the proper decisions in this role. They have promised to work for unity and focus on a sustainable pension benefit for present and future members in all of the pension plans. Accordingly, the HPROA recommends Terry Bratton and Dwayne Ready for these positions.
