Irwin H. Gaman HPROA member, passed away Friday, February 28, 2011. He was born February 3, 1934 to Louis and Gertrude Gaman in Providence, Rhode Island. He moved to Houston in 1955 to join his brothers in their family business. He is preceded in death by his son, Lindsey Gaman, Brothers and Sisters, Bernice Young, Sam Gaman, Betty Cabral, Milton Gaman and Morris Gaman. Survived by his daughter Ginger Davidson and husband Mark and grand daughter Shaina. Son, Carter and wife Ophelia and grand daughter Brittany and many loving nieces and nephews. Irwin served his country as a U.S. Marine in the Korean War, also his city as a Houston Police Officer for 20 years and retired as Sergeant. He was a member and grand master of Temple Lodge #4, as well as Congregation Beth Israel. His strong beliefs in protecting his country, community and life in general is a reflection of his many accomplishments. In his later years, he enjoyed staying active at the JCC Health Club, where he had many friends. Irwin loved and lived his life of 76 years to the fullest extent and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 31, in the Proler Family Chapel of Congregation Beth Israel Garden of Memories Cemetery, 1101 Antoine. For those desiring, contributions may be made to SPCA.
