Subject: Re: HPROA Associate Member Application Received
Looking forward to being able to meet some of the guys I worked with during my tenure with HPD. I graduated from Cadet class 36, 12/15/1967. Worked patrol out of Northeast; the North Side Tactical Squad; Narcotics; Solos; and back to Narcotics once I realized I had a good chance of being hired by the DEA. Left for DEA 7/79 and spent the next 25 years, retiring as a Supervisory Special Agent.
I thought I would share you some background info on my past law enforcement history.
Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a few good people to join our courthouse security team! Come and be more than just a deputy. Be an ambassador for the county.
An assignment to the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office as courthouse security requires applicants to have an active Texas law enforcement license. As a member of this team, you will not only be responsible for security of the building, the employees and visitors. You are also an ambassador in that the security team receives visitors at the main door to scan them for security and help them with their visits to the courthouse.
Interested applicants can apply in person at the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, 1220 W. Dallas St., Canton, TX 75103 or call Deputy Erin McLeaish at 903-567-4133 ext 481.

I am looking for someone who might still have a copy of the "Welcome to Houston" poster showing several officers in riot gear facing away from the camera. It was published in the early 80's after some type of potential unrest downtown. I had a copy for many years but it eventually got discarded in moving. If someone has the poster I would appreciate them sending me a high resolution image of it.
