Call to Order - President Bob Barnard called meeting to order at 9:55 a.m.

Minutes of Previous Meeting:
Motion by Forrest Turbeville, 2nd by Fred Eichholtz to accept the minutes as printed.  Voice Vote.  Motion Carried.

Brenda Alcorta – Houston Police Credit Union 
Brenda is assigned to assist HPROA members and retirees.  Her number is 713-986-0250.
HPCU scheduled an internal upgrade of their computer system.  Because of this upgrade the credit union will be closed to transactions from February 29-March 2, 2020. Debit card use may be disrupted during this time.
Although the look will be different it should be more user friendly. [More]

Determination of Quorum: A quorum was present.

Treasurer’s Report and Minutes of Previous Meeting: 
Motion by Potell, 2nd by Walschburger to approve the Minutes and the Treasurer’s Report as printed.  Voice Vote.  Motion Carried.

•Introduced Jeremy Garber, SpotShotter Project Manager, in charge of finding locations and managing employees.  SpotShotter is able to detect 90%+ gunfire incidents with a precise location in less than 60 seconds to significantly improve response time and officer safety and awareness.   Chief Acevedo approved a pilot program in southeast Houston. Recently, the Houston Chronicle published a story detailing that Cigna may terminate its relationship with Houston Based Memorial Hermann Hospital on April 30th.  Some City of Houston insurance providers (not Kelsey), use Memorial Hermann for some of its active and pre-Medicare insurance plans. Family Assistance Update
February 2020

Arthur Price:(2-22-20 nf) Mary reports that husband, Arthur suffered a stroke on 2-2-20 was later released and then had to have surgery was again released and was  at home recovering when he fell, struck his head. was admitted to Herman Hospital, Med Center. He was released on 2-20 and admitted to the Spanish Meadows Rehab Center, 1480 Katy Flewellen Red, Katy. Mary states that he is mobile with assistance but his speech and memory is effected. Please lift up your  prayers for Arthur that he would have a rapid and full recovery.

Thomas J. Smith:(2-14-20 nf) We visited by phone this morning with T.J.'s son, Terry, who reports that T.J. is now 94 years old, Class #9 retired out of the Forgery Div on 3-5-82, a resident of an Assisted living facility in Lakeway, Tx. [More]

Open Enrollment will be MONDAY, MARCH 16 to FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2020 for retiree dental, medical, and vision.   
 
Information cards will soon be sent with complete details to all retirees.  
 
All benefit coverage will roll over if you choose to do nothing.
