James L. Davis
James L. Davis, 88, a member of the HPROA, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016. He joined Police Academy Class #13 on November 21, 1955. He served in the Anti-Aircraft Division in the United States Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was last assigned to Central Patrol when he retired on March 3, 1987. James worked for the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department as a patrolman and as a longtime Bailiff in the 75th District Court, retiring in December 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Louise Davis, and sons, Gary Bernard Davis and James Leslie Davis, Jr. He is survived by daughters, Jacqueline Davis, Venus booker, Donneshea Cook, Bonita Davis and Morika Davis.

Funeral services will be held at Olive Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 5830 FM 1011, (Hardin, Texas) Liberty, Texas. Visitation will be held before the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016. The service will start at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be held at Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, with a 12:00 noon gate time.
