Jerry Wayne Lineberry A member of the HPROA, departed this life to his eternal home on October 17,2016. He was born on May 19, 1940 in Steele, Missouri. He was 76 years old. After graduating from Steele High School, he entered the United States Anny in May of 1958 and received his honorable discharge in 1961. Jerry moved to Houston, Texas in 1961 to pursue his dream of becoming a police officer. He was accepted into the Houston Police Academy in1962 and after a long and distinguished career with HPD he officially retired in 2006 with the rank of Sergeant. He had many "side" jobs as a police officer with his favorite being Chief Security Officer of outside security at the Houston Astrodome from 1979 to 2000. He also attended Sam Houston University in his "spare" time. He loved his family and friends and always kept them on their toes with his sly sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Marvice (Mize) Lineberry; his mother, L.Hazel (Wimberley) Buchanan, father, C.E. (Buek) Lineberry, father-in-law Marvin Arthur Mize and mother-in-law Mary Magdeline Mize.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin Lineberry of Hockley, TX, and Brian Lineberry and 3 grandchildren. Brothers, C. Lewis Lineberry (Carolyn) of Bertrand, MO, and Mark Lineberry (Christine) of Cape Girardeau, MO. Sister, Mary Beth Lineberry of Wyoming, Niece, Jerri Bushnell (James) of Rayne, LA and Nephew, Marvin Lineberry (Sarah) of Lake Charles, LA. and many other family and friends.
We, his family celebrate his life with loving memories that will keep him with us until our passing.
