Nelson P. Foehner

Nelson P. Foehner Retired Sergeant, and member of the HPROA who served as a dedicated member of the Family Assistance Committee for a period of more than 20 years, providing comfort and assistance to hundreds of HPROA members and their families.  passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020, at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife, Sue E. Foehner.  He is the father of Retired Sergeant Melissa A. Ruland, who retired on February 26, 2016; and father-in-law of Retired Sergeant Norman Tommy Ruland, who retired on January 27, 2017. Nelson joined the Houston Police Department on December 28, 1962, Academy Class #27. During his career with the department, he was assigned to the Central Division, Criminal Intelligence Division, Office of the Chief of Police, and the Narcotics Division. Sergeant Foehner retired on January 18, 1991. His kind gentle spirit, sense of humor, and loving nature will be missed by all who knew him. Please pray for Nelson’s family and thank God for him being a part of our lives.

A Graveside Service limited to a small number of people will be held at Klein Memorial Park – Tomball, 32539 State Highway 249, Pinehurst, Texas 77362 (281) 351-7233, on Thursday, April 23, 2020, starting at 11:00 a.m.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
